The fun-filled evening saw over 50 families and community supporters, both racers at the track and spectators cheering along. Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards the welfare of K’S PATH’s animals, upkeep of the shelter and support K’S PATH’s many community initiatives.
In the true spirit of sportsmanship all for a good cause, six enthusiastic racing teams took to the tracks in practice rounds of four laps to later compete in racing rounds of three laps. Exclusive racing rounds were held for women and men to recognize the fastest and slowest lap in each category. Eight racers across all teams scoring the fastest lap competed in the grand finale race for the coveted title of fastest circuit racer. DJ Omy spun his music to root for racers while the youngest child racer inaugurated the track by being the first to go-kart a lap under the vigilance of trained go-karting coaches and support staff.
The eventful fundraiser closed with a felicitation ceremony where K’S PATH Chief Operating Officer and Shelter Manager Hanna Al Mansour awarded winners across categories with fabulous prizes courtesy of patrons such as Movenpick, Al Corniche Club, Kefan Optics, and Organica Fish and Chips. K’S PATH’s fundraisers centre on activities that the community loves and engage the entire family, such as outdoors and extreme sports. Past fundraisers along these lines include a Golf tournament held in late 2010 at the Sahara Golf Club.
