Baboon Christmas 09
A crowd looks on as a baboon opens her Christmas present.
December 24th was Christmas for the animals at K'S PATH. Volunteers started arriving around 10am to watch the baboons open their presents and to walk the donkeys and the dogs. Special thanks goes to Areej Al-Sultan and Reem Al-Nouri for packing and wrapping special gifts for the baboons.
Steppe Eagle
At the beginning of December, K'S PATH was asked to take a Steppe Eagle into our care. The bird in question had been hit by a car and one of its wings was badly damaged. Royal Animal Hospital was forced to amputate half of the bird's left wing as that was the only way to save his life. After a few weeks of post-surgery recovery at the hospital, the eagle has been transferred to the K'S PATH sanctuary to continue his recovery and begin his new life in captivity. Her heart was obviously in the right place, but she had neither the skills nor space to care for a wild animal nor the awareness that buying a baboon from the market will only result in more smuggled primates....
